Following the signing of a MoU between eBRAM and HDRC in February 2026, the launch represents an important step forward in our collaboration and 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝘽𝙍𝘼𝙈–𝙃𝘿𝙍𝘾 𝙅𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙥𝙪𝙩𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙚 (𝙚𝙅𝙃𝘿𝙍 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙚).
We were honoured that Dr. Thomas So, JP, Chairman of eBRAM, attended the launch and ribbon-cutting ceremony together with Mr. Ronald Sum, JP , Vice Chairman of eBRAM, joining distinguished guests and industry representatives in witnessing this significant milestone.
💬 Dr. So, said: “By integrating eBRAM’s internationally recognised, secure and efficient online dispute resolution platform with HDRC’s specialised expertise and extensive professional network, the new platform provides healthcare service providers and patients in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area with a confidential, timely and cost-effective alternative to conventional court litigation.”
💬 Mr. Sum highlighted the practical value of mediation: “Some patients involved in medical disputes may simply be looking for an apology. Such cases may not need to proceed to the Medical Council or the Department of Justice, potentially involving costs of millions of Hong Kong dollars. Through mediation, the cost can potentially be reduced to several thousand to tens of thousands of dollars, depending on the mediator selected.”
The new platform offers both online and offline mediation and arbitration, with benefits including timely resolution, cost-effectiveness, confidentiality and professional handling, while helping preserve the important doctor-patient relationship.
eBRAM is proud to contribute our LawTech capabilities to this meaningful initiative and looks forward to working with HDRC and HKIMC to promote accessible, efficient and technology-enabled healthcare dispute resolution in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.
Congratulations to HDRC on this important launch, and our sincere thanks to all partners, guests and stakeholders who contributed to this milestone.
